Have you been meditating for years and find yourself singing this refrain, “Where have all the insights gone, long time passing?” Instruction during this retreat will inspire you and fuel both your concentration and your insight. A still, calm, collected mind is one free from disturbances, free of disturbances such as restlessness, worry, doubt, and anger.  Any moment free from these hindrances is a dukkha free moment, a moment free from craving and clinging. Oh what a relief it is!

The silence within ourselves, along with the collective silence of the group, creates conditions for a developing a continuity of consciousness, moment to moment awareness of all that arises and passes away. Once concentration has been developed, specific insight practices are taught.
The continuity of consciousness coupled with insight practices provides conditions ripe for breakthroughs in consciousness, waking up!

The retreat will be conducted in Noble Silence, and includes periods of sitting, walking, instruction and Dharma talks.

Location:  Heron House, 102 Russell Rd., Roswell, GA 30075

Roswell Insight Meditation (RIMC) is hosting CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training), a program developed by Dr. Lobsang Tenzin Negi at Emory University.

"CBCT® offers tools to expand compassion toward wider and wider circles.  The practices support the growth of a number of mental states and behaviors valued across cultures, such as kindness, gratitude, generosity, and warm-heartedness.  The fundamental premise is that compassion is a trait that can be developed and expanded. This view is supported by contemporary science as well as by most spiritual traditions".

Carol Beck, Assistant Director for the Emory-Tibet Partnership at Emory University, will be the lead instructor.  She will be joined by a teaching associate completing their teaching certification. For more information on CBCT®, please click here.
